GEODBONE is a spin-off as a result of the Research and Development of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (PUC). Made up by a multidisciplinary team focused on the study and development of a new synthetic particle to be used in bone defects resulting from tumoral, cystic or traumatic injuries
To improve people’s quality of life through biotechnological innovations.
Geodbone was born because we detected a pain. This pain was identified by our scientist, a maxillofacial surgeon, who saw how bone loss in his patients diminishes the body’s functionality and well-being, in addition to not being able to perform successful implants…. this, because the current solutions for bone filling do not always provide a good result.
We created a biocompatible, biodegradable and biologically active material, manufactured with rapid prototyping in 3D printing, with a very specific geodesic shape, and with a microporous surface.
All this, delivers osteoconductive properties, where these particles will allow in addition to bone filling, promote cellular development between and inside the particles.
Our solution provides
• Faster patient recovery.
• Low risk of infection and adverse effects (expected 0%).
• Customization of the design through 3D rapid prototyping
• Low manufacturing costs -> competitive prices for the patient
